Our team

We are a non-profit organisation run by a 100% voluntary committee with support from our members and their families. Please get in touch if you would be interested in joining our committee – from each new committee member we gain new ideas and a fresh perspective into what can be improved.

I have always loved the idea of a toy library.  Who wants to spend all that money on toys that will only be played with for a couple of weeks? When I saw the opportunity to be involved in the committee, I jumped at it.  I have been able to meet so many great people and be a part of an awesome initiative at the same time, not to mention have access to some amazing toys for my son.

Born and breed in Rolleston, I was keen to 'give back' to the community after returning to the area in 2021 with my young family. I hate unnecessary waste so love that our toys get enjoyed again and again by many children.

I moved to Rolleston in 2016, originally from Taranaki. With a young family of my own, I thought this community would really benefit from a toy library. I love a challenge, so thought this was a great opportunity to get involved in and also give back to the community. The experience has been greatly rewarding having met fantastic people and I have really enjoyed seeing the library grow to what it is today.

Secretary & Fundraising Manager

I moved to Rolleston in 2020 from Gisborne and my mum gifted a years membership for my youngest's birthday, knowing that it was the perfect way to minimise the amount of toys in my own house while also being able to hire large toys that kids love but can take up a lot of space. After having my 3rd child in 2021, I decided to join the committee, meet some new friends and also become more integrated into the community. Occasionally, our members might see my eldest daughter at the containers helping to sort toys as they come back in - teaching the next generation about volunteering and giving back to the community.

Originally from Christchurch, after moving around NZ a bit  I moved to Rolleston with my family in 2021, just after my daughter was born. My family loves living in this beautiful community and I was looking for a way to give a little something back to it. I have a strong interest in sustainability (and in not buying too many toys) which is what led me to joining the toy library committee and I am excited to be a part of such an incredible group of people who are committed to keeping this toy library going strong.

Toy Purchaser & Stock Manager

I have been in Christchurch for the past 15years and here in Rolleston since 2018 with my husband and 3 kids. I was excited to get involved in the Rolleston Toy library as my children have moved through stages and phases so quickly and there are always new and exciting toys available here to keep them busy. Being part of a growing community group has been a rewarding experience and the friendships built through the toy library have been great. I really enjoy seeing our local tamariki get so much enjoyment out of this valuable community resource.

I’m a recent arrival to Rolleston from Auckland where I first joined a toy library. I have two small children who absolutely love the Rolleston Toy Library (and I like that I can return the big, noisy toys!) I’d like to try to play a small part in getting the Rolleston Toy Library a building so families can come in with their kids, see and select toys in person.

Volunteer Manager

I moved back to Rolleston, from Wanaka, in 2022 when my son was about 9 months old. Having previously worked as a librarian I’ve always loved the idea of joining a toy library. My son absolutely loves the range of toys that meet his needs through his growing ages/stages. I love the idea that we can rotate toys, especially the big bulky ride-ons. The excitement and joy when I bring home new toys is priceless. I knew I wanted other tamariki to experience this joy and benefit from this amazing sustainable community resource. Becoming a volunteer and joining the committee enables me to utilise my skills and give back to my community. So if you are keen to volunteer please get in touch. We are always looking!
